2024 CFC PRODUCTION CREW VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM
JOIN US ON SET!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a production crew member and creative with the Canadian Film Centre productions!

Please review the below information and guidelines before submitting an application. For questions and clarifications, please contact volunteercrew@cfccreates.com.

ABOUT OUR SETS

CFC productions are professional sets operating within industry standards. Our productions support our programming and residents.  We have smaller, agile crews, but adhere to industry regulations and standard protocols while on set. We offer a variety of opportunities throughout the year, with volunteers working on everything from internal exercises to larger showcase productions. Volunteers must be able to commute within the GTA. As crew roles are limited, preference is given to those with on-set experience and a background in their chosen roles.

For our showcase productions, we work with gear donated from our sponsor and partner vendors which includes a package grip and electric truck, and a professional camera package. Our sets operate on an 11 + 1 working day (11hrs work + 1-hour break for lunch). Lunch is served “hot and ready” no later than 6 hours into the shift and is catered by a professional catering company as well as crafty provided on set. We do not do overnight shoots, and generally work between 7 am and 11 pm. Call sheets for production are shared no later than 12 hours before call time.

Our volunteer production teams are comprised of emerging filmmakers and industry pros. Our goal is to create a collaborative and supportive filmmaking environment where creatives of all levels gain useful experiences.

We are proud of the high quality of our showcase productions and are excited to share the final product with our volunteers once post-production is complete. If you’d like to see examples of previous showcase productions, please check out our YouTube Channel.

LOCATIONS:

Please note that all volunteer opportunities are based out of Toronto and the GTA. Most of our productions are shot within the downtown core, North York, Mississauga, Etobicoke and/or Scarborough. We do not provide transportation or mileage reimbursement for travel, and all sets are

TTC accessible.

SAFETY:

To maintain a safe and professional work environment, all confirmed cast and crew are asked to sign the CFC Respect in the Workplace Policy and adhere to our health & safety policy.
