The Canadian Film Centre (CFC) proudly presents the 2025 CFC Gala: Growing Futures: a celebration of the remarkable talent, stories, and creative opportunities we nurture through our programs, partnerships, and community. This year’s theme reflects the transformative impact we have when we invest in storytellers and empower them to shape the future of Canada’s screen-based industries.
Join us on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the elegant Four Seasons Hotel Toronto for an unforgettable evening in support of the next generation of Canadian creators. Together, we’ll raise vital funds to ensure the CFC continues to champion diverse voices and help bring powerful stories to life.
The First Honours
New this year, acclaimed Canadian film and television luminaries Jennifer Podemski, Rick Mercer, and Don McKellar will each be honoured with the inaugural Norman Jewison Founder’s Council Award, for their work continuing Norman’s legacy.

Fly Lady Di (Diana Reyes) is a Toronto-born renaissance woman known for her work as a painter, dancer and DJ active for over twenty years. She’s spun for Dior, Tiffany & Co., Twitter, Bastid’s BBQ (Toronto), Jay-Z’s D’Usse Cognac, Rihanna’s Fenty, Toronto Maple Leafs, eBay and Just For Laughs to name a few. She credits most of her musical tastes to her dancing days in New York City’s early 2000s where she rocked the industry and the underground House clubs. Di is an open format DJ but claims golden era Hip-Hop and R&B as her specialty as well as Soulful House and Classic Dancehall.
Kevin Hamdan is not only recognized as Toronto’s Top Mentalist, but also as one of the most sought-after Corporate Mentalists in Canada. Kevin blends the art of Mind Reading, Psychology, and Suggestion to create mind-blowing experiences that leave audiences mesmerized and questioning reality.
