West Queen West

Part game, part art, part real life, overlays a narrative onto physical locations and invites the audience to “enter” the story, to exploreboth the space and the narrative concurrently using their cell phone or PDAs to trigger installations, set sequences of events in motion, to gather clues and resolve the conflict of the story. The debut presentation was West Queen West, a murder mystery set over six interactive locations along Toronto’s art and design district. This prototype iteration sought to discover if the over-arching concept could stand. We think it does. As for future iterations, allows for other narratives in specific locations, each unique in that location and to sponsoring clients needs.
