Jean of the Joneses

Jean of the Joneses is about a girl from a dysfunctional family of Jamaican women who have happily sent all the men in their lives running for the past 30 years. Jean, a literary multi-cultural wunderkid - or so called by the New Yorker, is on the brink of following in the family tradition of self-inflicted abandonment and failure until one day when her estranged grandfather dies on her doorstep. Against the advice of her family, Jean plans the funeral for Gray Jones and learns some tough truths about the Joneses, her failing career and relationship with paramedic Ray Malcolm.
