CFC Welcomes E.J. Alon to the Executive Team

The Canadian Film Centre (CFC) is pleased to announce that E.J. Alon (he/him) will join the organization as Executive Lead, Creative Impact, Revenue, beginning July 22, 2021.

Reporting directly to maxine bailey, CFC’s Executive Director, E.J. will be the driving force behind all fundraising efforts at the CFC. In the role of Executive Lead, Creative Impact, Revenue, E.J. will lead the strategy, team and relationships that will drive revenue growth through corporate and individual sponsorships, major gifts, planned giving and major annual events at the CFC. Additionally, E.J. will oversee Special Projects and will be responsible for the overall strategy and oversight of government relations and foundations.

“I am thrilled to welcome E.J. to the executive team at the CFC as we continue to grow as an organization and champion Canadian storytellers and stories,” shared maxine bailey. “E.J. has a wealth of industry experience and knowledge across advancement, strategy and external relationships. He will bring invaluable insights and fresh perspectives to this role and to the CFC.”

Previously, E.J. held senior roles with the City of Toronto (TO Live), TIFF and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Industry Development at Telefilm Canada, leading all fundraising efforts in support of Telefilm’s emerging talent program, as well as evolving career development initiatives for filmmakers across the country. E.J. was also a founding Co-Chair of Telefilm’s Equity and Representation Action Committee, to help build a more inclusive screen-based industry.

E.J. is passionate about arts and culture and the transformative power of storytelling. He is a lifelong advocate of community impact and mentorship, and is an active volunteer.
