Toronto, October 25, 2021 – Join the Canadian Film Centre (CFC) outdoors on the historic grounds of Windfields Estate on October 27, 28 and 29, 2021 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. ET each evening to explore digital art projections as part of BigArtTO. This City of Toronto-led public art celebration features free temporary public artworks projected onto local buildings and landmarks across the city.
Digital artworks by diverse women-identifying content creators are spotlighted as part of the ‘Feminist Futures’ exhibit at the CFC. Visitors are invited to experience six different digital art projections – including four original never-before-seen works of art – created by CFC alumna Lisa Jackson and CFC Fifth Wave business accelerator residents OYA Black Arts Coalition and Digital 55, as they are illuminated on the exterior of buildings and trees on CFC’s property. Additionally, guests will enjoy an international creative collaboration between CFC Fifth Wave Initiative Cohort 1 company Ava Animation and Visual Arts Inc. from Canada, and Organ Phantom from France, courtesy of the French Embassy in Canada program partnership with the Fifth Wave Initiative. BigArtTO marks the first onsite event at the CFC since before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
