On Sunday, September 10, 2023, residents, alumni, and friends reunited on the Canadian Film Centre campus in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the CFC! 

The sophomore edition of CFC HOMECOMING, presented by Netflix, was a success, raising close to $300,000 thanks to the generosity of our partners and guests in attendance.

Lisa Odjig, an award-winning Hoop Dancer and performer set the stage to help us reflect on their surroundings, and, to continue to spread kindness and empathy among one another. Mayhem’s Finest got the crowd on their feet with an impromptu break dancing show – even getting some of the audience to participate and show off their best moves. DJ Jade Elektra kept the 80s vibe going with tunes and mashups throughout the day. 

The Eggplant Collective performed a few 80s cover hits, bringing creativity, energy and hidden tricks to the stage. And finally, John Fellner, courtesy of Slaight Music closed out the performances, to the delight of the 1,000+ crowd.

In between performances, guests wandered the campus to network and engage with members of the industry, while sampling an eclectic mix of Toronto’s best cuisine and beverages, including interactive activations from Clearly Canadian and Puppers. Additionally, guests stepped into the digital world via the Snapchat Mirror and a Protectress VR – a single-player virtual reality narrative experience about the protection and restoration of a sacred forest.
