Post Production & Technical Coordinator

Compensation: $45,000 to $47,500 per year

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 34 hours per week during non-production and up to 40 hours per week during production, with flexible start times

Job Summary: This role provides internal post and technical support to multiple programs, the residents and mentors as it relates to the editing and post-production processes and deliverables, assisting with the maintenance of CFC’s post-production equipment, program media archives, and for coordinating all post and key program technical/AV setups.

Responsibilities:

  • Regular edit system maintenance, preparing drives, clearing and backing up data for editors, CFC residents, and ensure media backup protocols are being followed through
  • Responsible for supporting communication of post and shoot deliverables to DOPs, directors and editors before shoots and editorials
  • Reviewing all footage for quality control and flagging any technical issues
  • Final transcoding support and review of any leftover media following shoots, in relation to project preparation for editors, to be performed as needed by the Post Manager
  • Following up on the delivery of script notes and shoot reports after shoots for delivery to editors.
  • Ensuring projects for the editors are prepared and delivered in line with the post schedule in both Adobe Premiere Pro and AVID Media Composer with script sync
  • Receiving deliverables from the editor and performing conforms in DaVinci Resolve for the online and colour project delivery
  • Interacting with creative teams and supporting the Manager with responding to various teams’ questions and requests as they pertain to post schedules and needs
  • Uploading and sharing CFC program exercises and finals with residents when needed
  • Coordinating hard drives and camera card rotation during shooting and making sure media is safely received by CFC’s Post department
  • Preparing VFX pulls and blank VFX plates for delivery to VFX artists
  • Coordinating with post houses and delivering on full post workflow through to finishing, including colour correct and mix file delivery, packaging and exports
  • Creating titles and building the credits in photoshop and illustrator
  • Uploading program content to YouTube and Vimeo channels
  • Cataloguing, digitizing and inventory of old physical & digital media
  • Supporting Audio/Visual set-ups required for program workshops

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional post experience and an in-depth understanding of the production to post to delivery pipelines
  • Proficient in DaVinci Resolve
  • Premier
  • Media Composer
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • Shot Put Pro
  • Mac OS and Windows operating systems
  • Pro Tools a plus
