Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000

Hours: Mon-Thurs (34 hours per week with flexible start times)

Job Summary:

You will be a crucial member of the team maintaining our spectacular Heritage estate located on Bayview Avenue. You will preserve Ontario’s history by ensuring our buildings, equipment, and grounds are well maintained and in great working order. Additional responsibilities include logistics support for our various Film, TV and Digital programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in the management of the premises and equipment
  • Regular inspections of the buildings, grounds, and equipment, identifying deficiencies, determining corrective action, and making suggestions for enhancements
  • Membership of the health & safety committee helping to ensure compliance with safety requirements
  • Liaison with outside cleaning, landscaping and snow removal service providers
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in a timely manner
  • Respond promptly and courteously to facility service requirements (office moves, room setups, events services, etc.)
  • Responsible for maintaining the security system
  • Respond to facilities emergencies in a timely manner
  • Adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Self-starter with an interest in heritage properties and their preservation
  • A willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees and contractors
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Must be able to work independently and follow through on tasks
  • Ability to climb stairs, use ladders, lift or carry
  • Basic Microsoft Office suite, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)

Assets

  • Knowledge of building and fire codes, health and safety regulations and mechanical/electric/security systems
  • Joint Health and Safety Certification
  • Certificate or diploma in facilities maintenance or equivalent
  • Driver’s license
