Program Structure

The FFP offers deadlines for two different budget levels:

  • Ultra-low budget projects- films that can be realized for up to $250,000.
  • Low-budget projects- films that can be realized for up to $500,000.

The FFP's support and financing for projects is provided in two stages:

STAGE ONE: Development
Any project selected by the FFP will first go through a mentored Development phase addressing and workshopping all critical aspects of the project and its team prior to production. This includes a focus on elements such as story editing, Director's rendering and a marketing strategy. The Development phase is conducted under the guidance of the FFP, the Centre's Professionals-in-Residence and key industry players. Upon completion of the Development period, the creative team will have a solid and complete Production Package/Strategy.

STAGE TWO: Production
In order to be considered for Production Financing, the creative team and project must first successfully complete Development through the FFP and meet the goals set out at the onset of Development. Only projects that have successfully completed Development, as determined by the FFP, will be considered for Production Financing. Full mentorship from the FFP continues throughout the production and post-production process.
