Fiery Sparks of Light
Produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada, 'Fiery Sparks of Light' is a CFC Media Lab and York University Immersive Storytelling Lab Co-Production in Partnership with Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry, supported by OCAD University.
An immersive and sensory celebration of poetry and the critical role women have played in creating Canada’s international literary reputation, Fiery Sparks of Light reimagines a collection of poems by four renowned Canadian women poets as an augmented reality experience. Using volumetric cinema technology as the foundation, an accompanying printed book contains QR codes that trigger holograms on a mobile device of the poets reading their original poems, while audiovisual effects augment the viewer’s experience.
Discover three AR poems by viewing this PDF excerpt of the book on a secondary mobile device, or printing it. Download the free app for either iOS (Apple) or Android (Samsung, Google, HTC, etc.). Scan the poem's QR code, then point with the camera of your mobile device at the front cover of the book to see the author appear as a hologram reading the poem.
