CFC Alumni Holly Dale and Bruce McDonald Win 2017 DGC Awards

Congratulations to CFC alumni Bruce McDonald and Holly Dale, who received awards at the 2017 DGC Awards Gala this past Saturday, October 28 at The Carlu in Toronto.
Weirdos
Bruce was recognized for “Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film” for his 2016 feature Weirdos, a black-and-white narrative that follows two adolescents in their journey of self-discovery as they road-trip across rural Nova Scotia.
Mary Kills People
Holly Dale received the award for “Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Mini-Series” forMary Kills People (Episode 102, “The River Styx”).Mary Kills People was developed at the CFC in our 2014 Bell Media Prime Time TV Program by former resident Tara Armstrong. The series follows Dr. Mary Harris – an overworked single mother and ER doctor who also moonlights as an underground angel of death – working outside the law assisting patients who want to die on their own terms. Season 2 is set to premiere on Global in early 2018.
