Ten Immersive Tech Startups Chosen for Enterprising Culture 2017

CFC Media Lab and the Embassy of France in Canada present Enterprising Culture, an international forum providing opportunities for discussions and exchanges between Canadian and French stakeholders, and for startups and companies working in immersive technology for arts and culture.
This year’s adjudication panel, including representatives from CFC Media Lab, La Gaîté Lyrique, BNP Paribas, Business France and the Embassy of France in Canada, are pleased to announce the five French startups and five Canadian startups chosen to present at this year's Enterprising Culture, taking place October 31 to November 1 at Corus Quay in Toronto, and November 2 to 3 at Emily Carr University in Vancouver.
Two startups, one French and one Canadian, will receive the Cultural Start-up Award to take part in an intensive incubating week in Toronto for the French start-p and in Paris for the Canadian startup.
The five Canadian startups are:
Company: Brinx Software Inc.
Mission: To democratize the creation of 3D artwork.
Description: Launched in early 2015, Brinx has built virtual reality products for major enterprises such as Lockheed Martin and Shopify. Its MasterpieceVR is the world's first collaborative VR platform that dramatically simplifies 3D sculpting and painting.

Company: LARGE/Albedo Informatics Inc.
Description: LARGE is a mobile app and platform for the creation of location-based augmented reality (AR) content. It is powerful and easy to use -- you just drag-and-drop 3D-Models, animations, photos, video, audio and text to create AR scenes. You can anchor scenes to real world locations around you, and connect series of scenes to create tours, scavengers hunts, and longer narratives.
Description: Filmtyme is working on filmmaking tools to enable real time collaborative moviemaking in virtual reality.

Description: LENS is a virtual reality platform and content creation house, with its own unique compression codec technology to provide and produce pre-recorded/live virtual reality video content. Description: Novelab is a creative tech studio that specializes in next generation audio and interactive tools for movies, TV, anime and video games.
Novelab's Notes On Blindness : Into Darkness VR:
Description: Histovery designs, produces and operates “augmented visits” solutions, to best showcase monuments, museums and tourist sites with cutting-edge technologies. Histovery's HistoPad is a new cultural media tablet device that enables visitors to experience a unique cultural visit thanks to augmented reality, immersive reconstructions of past periods, 3D and rich media.
Company: Owl Perception/VRTUOZ
Description: VRTUOZ is a platform dedicated to create collective experiences in virtual reality. The goal is to give life to virtual reality by providing an open solution to content providers and a user-friendly interface to companies for distant training sessions, remote virtual visits or live event broadcasting.
