Alumnus Pat Mills has been nominated for a 2015 ACTRA Awards in the Outstanding Performance – Male category for his performance in Guidance. Other nominees in this category include Gavin Crawford (Two 4 One) and Ennis Esmer (Dirty Singles) Jordan Gavaris (Orphan Black) and Colin Mochrie (The Anniversary). The winners will be announced at the ACTRA Awards ceremony and industry party on Friday, February 20, 2015 at The Carlu in Toronto.

Pat Mills is the writer, director and star of Guidance, a story about a boozing, drug-addled former child star who fabricates credentials to score a last-ditch job as a high school guidance counsellor and becomes an improbable hit with his students by dispensing the worst advice possible. The film was executive produced by alumna Alyson Richards, edited by alumnus Bryan Atkinson, with music by Slaight Music Residency alumni Joseph Murray and Lodewijk Vos of Menalon.

Guidance made its world premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival and was selected by the TIFF Next Wave Committee as a film that will appeal to the next generation of film lovers.

Congratulations on the nomination, Pat!
