Six CFC Alumni Participate in 4th Forum of the Canada-India Business Council

A delegation of 14 Canadian producers will take part in the 4th Forum of the Canada-India Business Council, which begins today, Monday, November 17, 2014 in Mumbai and runs until Wednesday, November 19, as well as in the 8th Film Bazaar that will be held in Goa from Thursday, November 20 to Monday, November 24, to activate the Canada-India Audiovisual Coproduction Treaty.

Among the 14 producers are six CFC alumni, Alfons Adetuyi (’92), Inner City Films; Paula Devonshire (’98), Devonshire Productions; Mehernaz Lentin (’93), Industry Pictures; David Miller (’11), A71 Productions; Damon D’Oliveira (’09), Conquering Lion Pictures; and Miranda de Pencier (’98), Northwood Entertainment.

Telefilm Canada and the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) are spearheading the mission with support from the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi, the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai and the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA).

The co-production treaty between Canada and India, which came into effect on July 1, 2014, will become a reality with this mission, which purpose is to develop relationships with India’s film industry and position Canada as a major player and key partner for co-production.
