Entertainment One (eOne) announced today that CFC Actors’ Conservatory alumna Kate Corbett (Empire of Dirt, The Animal Project) will be appearing alongside Jason Ritter (Parenthood), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage, Don’t Mess With the Zohan), James Brolin (The Nest, The 33), and Christine Lahti (Chicago Hope, Running on Empty) as part of the cast of the upcoming ensemble comedy/drama The Steps from director Andrew Currie (Fido).

The Steps is the story of an uptight New Yorker and his party girl sister who visit their dad's lake house to meet his new wife, and rough-around-the-edges kids. When the parents announce they're adopting a child to bring the family together, it has the opposite effect.

Principal photography began on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Parry Sound, Ontario. eOne will distribute the film in Canada. The script was written by novelist Robyn Harding. Daniel Iron (Blue Ice Pictures), Mary Anne Waterhouse (Quadrant Motion Pictures), Jason James (Resonance Films) and Andrew Currie are producing. The Steps has been developed and produced with the support of Telefilm Canada, The Harold Greenberg Fund, and Superchannel.

Congratulations Kate!
