Kaaren Whitney-Vernon has over 15 years successfully running her own company, Youth Culture, with a proven track record of creating youth brands including the top ranked teen magazine in Canada – Vervegirl. Vervegirl Magazine is distributed in over 1,100 high schools and online through Barnes and Noble in the US. During this time, Youth Culture launched the premiere youth research company and created the highly successful syndicated study – Trendscan – report of Youth Lifestyle. Trendscan tracked the values, attitudes and behaviors of the 12- 24 demographic and was used by over 35 national and international brands to create a better understanding of marketing to youth in Canada.
Kaaren, as a youth expert, has spoken on many marketing panels and has been interviewed by CTV, CBC, BNN and various trade publications.
With the growth in digital content and YouTube, Kaaren became the Executive Producer of the first reality show on YouTube – the Avenue - with garnered over 2.5 million views and countless loyal fans.
Her new venture is shift2, an agency established to help brands to understand the power of video content with a focus on YouTube.
