Amy Cole
Biography
Amy was born and raised in Port Colborne, ON and is a graduate of Ryerson University’s Radio and Television Arts program, where she wrote for the TARA Awards and Ryerson’s annual sketch revue, RIOT. Amy also studied Television Production at Bournemouth University in Bournemouth, UK and interned at BBC Television’s The Saturday Show.
Shortly after graduating, Amy turned her focus to another lifelong passion, music, and co-founded indie rock trio The Rural Alberta Advantage. Signing to both Canadian and American record labels following the viral success of their self-released debut Hometowns, the band has played festivals including SXSW (Austin, TX), Coachella (Indio, CA), Osheaga (Montreal, QC), The Great Escape (London, UK) and Primavera Club (Barcelona, ES), as well as hundreds of headlining shows in between. They received the Galaxie Rising Stars Award in 2010, and were nominated for two 2012 JUNO Awards.
