I graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. During my undergraduate years, I developed my programming skills using C and Java in various applications for web, mobile and games. It was also during that time that I have taken an interest in Computer Graphics and Game Development. Because I did not know where to begin my course of study in that field, I have decided that the best way to learn the craft is to study how the artists use 3D in the animation and visual effects industry.
So I moved to Toronto, Canada to study 3D Animation and Visual Effects for Film and TV at Seneca@York College. I had an awesome time learning 3D, from 3D modeling, rigging, animation, and texturing and lighting, using Autodesk Maya, and visual effects, from fire, smoke, fracturing, water simulation, and particle systems, using Houdini and Maya's Dynamics.
Now I am taking my Master's Degree at OCAD University so I could combine my art and technical skills together. It is an awesome experience because they have permitted me to take a Computer Graphics course at the University of Toronto as an elective to supplement my studies and build the necessary skills I need for my career.
Whenever I am free, I usually play with my adorable cousins and spend time with my family and friends. Often times, I can be seen checking and reading nifty articles online, improve my programming skills, watch movies and series, do arts and crafts, and play Dance Central or Zumba on Kinect.
