Job Description

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for performing routine maintenance, assisting with outsourced services (cleaning, snow removal, HVAC) and general upkeep of eight (8) CFC buildings; the Main House, Pavilion, Gatehouse, Greenhouse, Stable and three (3) small cottages situated on eight (8) acres of property. This position requires excellent building maintenance skills as well as some office skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in the management of the physical facility and equipment
  • Maintain the appearance and operation of the buildings at optimal levels
  • Regular inspection of the buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Ensuring equipment is clean and well maintained i.e. noting repair and replacement needs
  • Perform monthly health & safety inspections (interior and exterior), ensure compliance with safety requirements and participate in safety training as required
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in a timely manner (minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs)
  • Respond promptly and courteously to facility service requirements (office moves, room set-ups, events services, etc.)
  • Janitorial duties include snow removal (at entrances), de-icing, spill cleanup, etc. as required
  • Organize and update documents on the server for the Facilities Department
  • Responsible for the issuance, return and maintenance of security swipe cards/fobs
  • Maintain the facilities supplies inventory
  • Respond to building emergencies and security calls 24/7
  • Communicate deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancements/repair

Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in facilities maintenance or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ in building maintenance or related trade
  • Strong knowledge of the building and fire codes, health and safety regulations and building mechanical/electrical/security systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees, contractors and service providers
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities with competing priorities
  • Ability to climb stairs, use ladders, lift or carry items of varying and substantial weight as required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to use common power tools
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)

Assets:

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets
  • Joint Health and Safety Certified
